Study in USA

There are many ways you can come to the States. But for F1 (International Student Visa), you must have i-20 to remain legal in the States. I-20 is a paper which shows your name, your major and the institution you are studying and date. Date in i20 expires but you need to renew it if you take a long time to graduate. You cannot take a long time to graduate. Usually, most of the student in US graduates in 5 years from University.

To apply:
You can apply from your own home or you can go to a consultancy. You just need a valid i20 to get to The Embassy of the United States for Visa. If you know which university you are going, you just need to pay SEVIS fee which is $200 and to get an appointment for the interview it costs $162. It is good & cheap to apply by yourself.

Community College or University?

There are two institutions you can apply and study. Community Colleges are not government-run colleges. They are a private institution and they are cheaper than the university if you do not have a scholarship at the university. Community colleges cover core classes. You can study two years in community college and transfer to University & study two more years for your bachelor’s degree. Community colleges have courses only for bachelors. For masters, you must be in university from the beginning. There are no community colleges for masters.
University is expensive as compared to community college. But you have to go to university to get your undergrad degree. The courses are advance in university than in community college. So, most of the student study in Community College for the first 2 years and then transfers to university for their bachelor’s degree.
International Students are not allowed to work in the states. They can work legally if they get work within the University or College they are studying. To get employment, you must have SSN (Social Security Number) which can only be obtained from School DSO.
